💖📚 It’s Dolly Day at SHH! 📚💖
Today we’re celebrating Dolly Parton’s love of reading, imagination, and putting books into the hands of children with a little Drop Everything & Read (D.E.A.R.) time throughout our school day!
We’d love for our families and community to join us, too!
Take a few minutes today to read with a child, listen to them read, tell a favorite story, or simply talk about a book you love.
Even a few minutes together can help build a love of reading. 💗
And in true Dolly spirit, today’s reminder is simple:
✨ Be kind. Be yourself. Help someone shine. ✨
Let’s keep growing readers and SHINING BRIGHT, SHH! 💖📚

💜 Purple for Stella 💜
Our school was filled with PURPLE for Stella today, and it was pretty special to see. 💜
With the blessing of Stella’s family, our students and staff wore her favorite color as a small way to honor and remember someone who gave 37 years to Shishmaref School. Seeing so much purple throughout the building was a beautiful reminder of just how many lives Stella touched during those years.
As our XC team gets ready to head to Regionals, we’re proud to carry a little of Stella’s school spirit with us. 💜💚🤍
We would love for our community to join us! If you wore purple for Stella today, please share your pictures with us in the comments. Let’s fill this post with purple too. 💜
Our continued love and condolences go out to the Weyiouanna/Havatone family.
37 years. Forever a Northern Light. 💜
